Academic News – What a delightful finish to a fine school year! We had a beautiful, faith-filled graduation ceremony last Thursday. Fr. Dennis delivered a wonderful message to all the graduates about staying close to God and that learning is a life-long endeavor. Thank you to all of the parents and staff who made this possible.
New Academy Principal – It is with a great deal of gratitude to God and excitement for us and all of you that we announce Mrs. Evelyn Urbiztondo as the next principal of St. Michael Academy. Mrs. Urbiztondo has distinguished herself as an accomplished Jr. High Math and Science teacher. She has enhanced the reputation of our school throughout the Diocese and the greater San Diego community by her diligent efforts. Let’s all pray for her unbounded success!
Medicines – If you have medicines for your child in the Health Office, please retrieve them by Thursday morning. Thanks.
Century Club Revision – We forgot to include Bernadette Ramirez, one of our tireless room moms, and we listed Casie Martinez as a former member – incorrect – she’s quite active. Our apologies for the oversight and thanks for your service.
School Office Hours During Summer - Our office will be open during the summer from June 18 to Aug. 19 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Regular hours (7:30–3:30) will be in effect starting August 20th. Daycare bills for May are due on or before June 15th. Daycare bills for June will be mailed on June 25th, with payment due by July 15th. Mailed payments must be postmarked on or before July 15th to avoid penalties. If your address or phone number changes over the summer, please notify the school office to receive summer mailings in a timely fashion.
Classroom Spaces Available for 2007-2008 - We have classroom space available at all grade levels. Please tell family and friends to contact the school office, if interested.
Yearbooks – We have a limited number of Yearbooks available for sale on a first come-first served basis until they are gone. The cost is $15.
Tuition Accounts – All accounts must be paid in full by Thursday or report cards and registrations must be held. If you have questions, please call the school office.
Last “Academy Parent News” for Mr. Humphrey – I hope that these newsletters have been a beneficial source of information about the Academy. They have been a vital link for me with all of you. Thank you for taking the time to read them. Any ideas for improving our communications with you would be welcomed by Mrs. Urbiztondo. Reflecting on the pleasure of six years of work at the Academy causes me to dearly appreciate the role I had at SMA. It was a distinct honor, privilege and aid to my growth in faith to serve as the Principal of the Academy. Working in God’s vineyard is a true joy! Thank you all for your support during these wonderful years. I will miss you all very much. Have a peaceful and restful summer! God bless all of you!
Thanks again for a wonderful 6 years!
